Attend the 2021 Asimov Sci-Fi Symposium 

  • Zombie special-effects make-up tutorial
  • Panel discussion with John Russo, Gary Lee Vincent and Solon Tsangaras. Vincent and Tsangaras starred in My Uncle John is a Zombie! as well as The Walking Dead and Stranger Things.
  • Free screening of John Russo's  Night of the Living Dead at the Gluck Theatre in the Mountainlair. Cosplay is welcome—and encouraged!

Guided Night Adventure: Alpine Tower and Giant Swing

Enjoy an evening of aerial adventure at the WVU Outdoor Education Center! Students will have the opportunity to participate in both the Alpine Tower/Giant Swing combo and a guided hike near the WVU Outdoor Education Center. These activities will be guided by moonlight, and will give students an opportunity to swing, climb and explore at night. Activities will commence at the onset of dusk - and will proceed into the early evening. Students will be provided time to participate in all events. Snacks will be provided. Participants under the age of 18 will need a parental signature. This is a perfect opportunity to see the region’s best fall colors - and do participant in a guided nighttime activity.

Haunted Adventures: WVU Zipline Canopy Tour

Enjoy an evening of aerial adventure at the WVU Outdoor Education Center! Guided by moonlight, the Adventure WV Canopy Tour is comprised of 4 zip-lines, 7 tree-based platforms, an aerial bridge, aerial ladder and a rappel station to exit the course. Each zip or leg of the course ranges in length from the 201’ starting zip, to the 980’ zip at the conclusion of the course. Participants will rappel 45’ from the final platform to the ground. After exiting the course, participants will hike from the base of the final tree back to the equipment shed on an interpretive nature trail.

Halloween Themed Climbing at WVU Climbing Wall - Halloween Night

  • Host: Campus Rec Events Campus Rec
  • When: October 31
  • 1 Ticket for each activity completed. Max 3 total tickets, Free!

Come to the Climbing Wall from 4-7pm on Halloween in your favorite costume! We'll be listening to spooky music, eating candy, and literally hanging out! Students participating in this activity will be entered into the Adventure Rec Autumn Engagement Series and given one point for participation. bonus tickets for participating in our dead hang and/or pullup competition. One point for each activity completed.
