Lincoln Hall Trash Pick-up Competition

Residents of Lincoln Hall will be put to the test (and so will their arm muscles) with a friendly competition to pick up trash in Morgantown. The official start time will be at noon on Sunday, October 24 and will span 5 hours. Residents are free to choose for how long they want to scavenge for trash and when they are finished. Residents will secure their spot by filling out an interest form that they will get to through scanning a QR code from one of the snazzy posters. Residents will be on teams of 1-3  that they will choose themselves and one team will be crowned winners. The champions will each receive a $10 dollar gift card from Cold Stone Creamery, Panera Bread, or Kroger.

How will we determine the chamcpions? Weight? Number of bags? Number of hours spent in the hot beating sun? Total miles walked? Since we don't own a massive industrial scale, we will be determining the winners by how many bags of trash were collected. (Also as a fun fact, the participants can record their running time and also total miles walked too if they wish.)

To be certain that all of the bags have the same volume, large trash bags will be provided to each team. These trash bags (and gloves) will be distributed at the front desk starting at noon on trash day. To record how many bags residents collected, instead of bringing RA Olga all of their trash and causing the hall to smell foul, residents will be asked to take a selfie with each new bag of trash they collect (making it obvious that if they submit 2 pictures, that the 2 pictures are different.) An email will be sent out to the participants to submit a grand total of their results: how many bags, strangest object found, any funny stories, total miles walked (if they want), and running time (if they want). Another gift card will be awarded to the victor who found the strangest item.

At 5 PM on 10/24/21, residents will stop collecting trash for the competition, but are free to keep up the good work themselves. By the end of the day, submissions to the google form must be in to be considered for the prizes.

Halloween Major Rager

While doing this, we will also supply the residents with fun Halloween snacks and drinks, along with board games, horror movie, and other activities.
